Gujarat Forensic Sciences University

The world's first university to be dedicated to forensic and allied sciences, Gujarat Forensic Sciences University was established on 30th September, 2008. The main objective of the University is fulfilling the acute shortage against increasing demand of forensic experts in the country and around the world.

The University which is located in the green and clean city of Gandhinagar runs in parallel association with the Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS)-Gujarat State, to provide hands-on training pertaining to various areas of forensic science, forensic psychology and research and development.

The University offers only postgraduate and programs through three academic departments, namely Institute of Forensic Science (IFS), Institute of Behavioural Science (IBS) and Institute of Research & Development (IRD).

The University has built a Hi-tech Green Campus with State of the Art infrastructure and it is proceeding for Green Building Certification.

The University is headed by the Director General, followed by the Registrar and three Directors, as head of each of the three institutes. The highest body of the University is the Board of Governors having the Director General of the University, as its Chairman.

Ph.D. Programme

The Institute doctoral program is organized into three broad areas: Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology and Neuropsychology. Admission in Gujarat Forensic Sciences University

For admission into the M.Sc. courses of any institute, the candidates must qualify the entrance examination conducted by the University. Each institute will conduct their entrance test separately and the candidates will have to apply for them separately as well. Applicants must send the filled-in application form for the correct institute and pay the required application fee. An interview will follow the admission test during the counselling session.

Gujarat Forensic Sciences University Online Courses Admission

The online courses offered by the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University are Certificate courses that have the duration of six months. The three certified courses require the candidate to be a graduate of any discipline. The other Certificate Diploma courses are only for Police Personnel.
