Gujarat Civil Services Exam

Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) conducts the Gujarat Civil Services Exam also called Gujarat Administrative Services Exam. On the basis of performance in this examination the commission recommends the candidates to the government of state for appointment of  various Grade-1 and Grade-2 posts for administrative departments in the state of Gujarat.

Gujarat Civil Services Exam Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidate must be the citizen of India.

  2. He/she must have the domicile of Gujarat.

  3. The applicants must have successfully completed their graduation in any stream from a recognized university or institute.

  4. The age of the applicant must be between 20 and 35 years.

  5. The candidates belonging to the reserved category will be given the suitable relaxation in their upper age as per the Govt. norms.

GPSC Selection Process

The final selection of candidates will be done after successful completion of three round if testing; i.e. Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Interview. The first stage is the preliminary examination. The marks of the Pre-exam will not be considered while preparing the merit list.

Candidates qualifying for the preliminary examination will be eligible to appear in the main examination. The main examination marks play an important role in the merit list.

After that Candidates will be called to prove their suitability for the Gujrat Administrative Service (GAS) or Gujrat Police Service by the Interview. The candidates have to obtain minimum qualifying marks for clearing the interview.

Gujrat Civil Services Exam Pattern

Gujarat Civil Services Exam will be conducted in three stages, i.e. Prelims, Mains and Interview.

Therefore, the Candidate has to qualify all the three stages of the examination. Candidates will have to pass the preliminary examination first. After qualifying the preliminary exam, the candidates will be eligible to appear in the main exam. Lastly, the candidates will be called to appear for an interview to prove their suitability for the Gujrat Administrative Service (GAS) or Gujarat Police Services.

Interview
After the commencement of of both the written examination (pre and mains), candidates will have to appear for an interview.

A panel or board appointed by the GPSC will assess the candidate’s personality and skill and suitability for the job thru the general.

Gujarat Civil Services Exam Application Process

  1. Candidates are required to fill and submit the Gujarat Civil Services Exam Application Form through the official website https://www.gpsc.gujarat.gov.in

  2. Candidates has to provide all the necessary details in the application form such as the name, address and the details of the educational qualification. Other than these, candidates will also have to provide the phone number and the valid email ID in the application form.

  3. The application form will have columns where candidates are required to upload the scanned photograph and signature.
